"The poem was handset in Perpetua and printed letterpress by Nelle Martin on Cave 'Skin' paper. The drypoints were printed by hand from copper plates and were hand colored on Echizen Shikibu Gampi paper by the artist. The book was bound by Mark Tomlinson. The poem first appeared in The Dirty Side of the Storm (New York : W.W. Norton, 2007) and has been reprinted by permission

Wrappers, preliminaries, and colophon have glued on reproductions of 19th century labels from the Farmacia Francesa of Matanzas, owned by the Triolet family.

Reliquary is the second collaboration between Michele Burgess and Martha Serpas. The poems are centered in the American South, where her hometown of Galliano, Louisiana, is disappearing into the Gulf of Mexico because of coastal erosion and rising seawaters. Burgess's etchings are concerned with the disappearance of the languages and patterns of nature. This is volume nine of the "Stratigraphic archives" series--Colophon.
The text was hand set in Twentieth Century Medium and printed letterpress by Nelle Martin on Rives BFK paper. The etchings are "ghost" printings on Twinrocker paper collaged with torn fragments from the first impression of the print on Gampi pape
