The Libraries’ 2025-2027 agreement with Elsevier allows Dartmouth authors to publish in a large collection of journals and make their article available Open Access without paying an APC.
Which journals are included in this agreement?
The APC coverage applies to journals in Elseviers’ Core-Hybrid Collection. You can find a list of these journals here. Please note that Cell Press journals and Lancet journals are not included.
Which article types are included in this agreement?
This agreement covers primary research and review article types, including: case reports, data in briefs, full-length articles, micro-articles, original software publication, practice guidelines, protocols, review articles, replication studies, short communications, short surveys, and video articles.
Are there other eligibility criteria?
The corresponding author must be affiliated with Dartmouth. To be included within the agreement workflow, please use your Dartmouth email address when submitting.
What Open Access licenses are available?
Corresponding authors will be prompted to select a Creative Commons license. At a minimum, these will be CC BY 4.0, CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 and CC BY-NC 4.0, however some journals might offer further options. You can learn more here. Please note that the CC BY 4.0 license is the most open and least restrictive license.
How many articles are covered by this agreement?
This agreement covers a limited number of articles each calendar year, which Elsevier has determined based on Dartmouth’s previous publication history.
