"We are excited to share with you the progress on our new Library Collections & Services Facility (LCSF). Library collections and resources are fundamental to the outstanding liberal arts education offered at Dartmouth. The Dartmouth Library supports the teaching, learning, and research of all disciplines, many of which will continue to rely on print and other physical materials. The Library currently stewards over 3.5 million volumes acquired since Dartmouth’s founding in 1769 as well as the physical records of the College. The new LCSF is a critical addition to the Library’s infrastructure that will ensure the long-term stewardship and care of our valuable collections and college records not only for the needs of our current academic community but for generations to come."

COLLECTIONS
All Library and Records Center materials will move from the current location to the new LCSF this fall. We are currently developing guidelines for library-wide collection assessment practices. The guidelines will be used to reconfigure the Library’s physical collections across its spaces.
OPERATIONS & SERVICES
The new facility will bring the Records Center and the Dartmouth Library Depository together in one space. We are currently reviewing workflows and systems to maximize efficiencies in this merged operation.
CONSTRUCTION
Library staff are working closely with Dartmouth's Campus Services division on the construction elements and interior fit-out of the LCSF. You can view the construction progress by viewing the "HatCam" footage and time-lapse video.
