Research Impact Summer Series

Week 2: Library Overview

Our topic this week is library usage!

As a member of the Thayer/Dartmouth community you have access to an incredible amount of material through the library. The Feldberg Business and Engineering Library is currently under construction but Baker Berry Library is once again open for browsing, and lots of our resources are digital. Whether you’re on campus or remote, you have access to digital resources provided by the library.

It’s our goal to support the research needs of our community so if you’re having trouble finding material related to your research area please let us know! In an effort to make the library easier to navigate we put together Research Guides and Course Guides, the Engineering Research Guide is a great place to start as is the library home page. You may need to turn on your VPN for full access. Use this link for instructions to walk you through getting set up.

We offer virtual subscriptions to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, use the links to sign up for your access. If you need a book we don’t have or find an article from a journal we don’t subscribe to we can usually get it for you via Borrow Direct or interlibrary loan.

For each class you’re teaching we can create a course guide, come into your classroom and we offer course reserves to have material available on hold for use throughout the term. Every subject has a subject librarian available to help via email, phone, zoom, and soon in person!

We’re here to support your research and teaching efforts!
