GenAI for Everyday Writing

with Amelia Looby & Crystal Schimpf
Wednesday, April 17, 12:10-1:00pm (Zoom)
This interactive workshop focuses on GenAI as an everyday writing assistant for practical applications. We will use Dartmouth Chat to support the writing process: brainstorming ideas, organizing thoughts, revising content, and formatting for specific audiences. We will engage in hands-on exercises to refine your prompt engineering skills and explore legal and ethical issues and the potential for bias in AI-generated content.

Gen AI - Perfecting the Prompt

with Simon Stone
Tuesday, May 7, 12:00-1:30pm (Zoom)
Join us to delve into the art and science of prompt engineering with Generative AI. Prompt engineering is the key to unlocking the full potential of Gen AI, ensuring it understands and responds effectively to our questions and commands. In this session we’ll learn the intricacies of crafting effective prompts for Large Language Models, understand the importance of specificity, nuance, and context in prompt design, and engage in hands-on exercises to refine your prompt engineering skills. We will learn about the difference between zero-shot and few-shot prompting, and discuss how to make a specific knowledge source, e.g., a set of documents, available to a model.
