Unlimited storage allows you to sync your Zotero Desktop library to your online Zotero.org library. This allows you to seamlessly read, annotate, and share your library between Zotero Desktop, Zotero.org, and Zotero mobile apps.
Connect your Zotero account to your Dartmouth.edu email to automatically access unlimited storage.
Update your primary account email: Zotero.org → Settings → Email → Email Addresses (Add & Make Primary)
We do recommend having a non-Dartmouth email account as your secondary should you move to another institution or leave Dartmouth.
Are you currently paying for a Zotero storage subscription? You will no longer need to!
Check your storage: Zotero.org → Settings → Storage
At the bottom of the "Current Plan" section it should say "Dartmouth Libraries provides unlimited storage for ...@dartmouth.edu"–if it does not, you will need to update your email as instructed above.
Zotero storage is limited in two ways: For Zotero Desktop, your own computer's hard drive will be the limiting factor. For libraries that sync to you online library at Zotero.org, storage is traditionally limited to 300MB. However, when you make your @dartmouth.edu email primary on your account you can access free storage thanks to Dartmouth Libraries!
What counts towards your storage usage:
If you leave Dartmouth, your access to unlimited Zotero storage expires once your Dartmouth email expires. Before leaving, update your Zotero account to include a non-Dartmouth email.
Update your primary account email: Zotero.org → Settings → Email → Email Addresses (Add & Make Primary)
When you are no longer on the institutional storage plan, Zotero will notify you if you exceed 300 MB of free storage. Explore paid storage options here.
