Welcome!

Welcome to the Library!

This guide contains some ideas, strategies and tools for researching the interaction between "he media" and politics. I hope you will find them useful to accomplish the assignments for your Government 07 class.

This guide complements other more general related guides. To find more resources about Media, you should consult the Libguide: Film and Media Studies. To find resources about Government in general, you should consult the libguide Government. If you need resources that deal with any other subject, you should consult the appropiatte guide in the following Directory.

Don’t forget that behind these electronic pages, there are "people" ready to help you in any aspect of your research process. Please contact me - see my contact information at the right - or any Reference librarian with questions, doubts or suggestions.  Our office is in Berry 180 at Berry Library Level 1

Other options you have are: ask by e-mail any question using the Ask a librarian or visit us at the  Reference Desk at Berry level 1 to meet any subject specialists.

Getting Started

As you begin your research ask yourself:

* What language or vocabulary describes the topic?

* What KEYWORDS, related and synonymous terms come to mind?

* What sort of material do you want to read or view, i.e. books, articles, images?

* Where will you find "academic" quality material?

* How should you EVALUATE print and online sources?
