Create a personal title list using "My Collection"

Our Library Course Reserves system offers a "My Collection" feature which allows you to build a personal title list for your ongoing use, independent of your course lists.  You can search, filter, and export citations from My Collection in multiple formats.  You may also search and select titles from "My Collection" for addition to your course reserves lists.

  • Access "My Collection" from the Library Reserves top banner menu, under the three (3) horizontal lines

Add Citations to My Collection

Add to My Collection by the same means as adding items to your course reserve lists. [See Step 2 of this guide for detailed instructions.]

  • Within My Collection select the blue "Add Items" button
  • From the resulting menu in the right-hand pane, select either "Library Search" to find items from our library system, or "Blank Form" to manually enter citations.
  • Other options include:
    • saving citations using the Cite It! bookmarklet,
    • Searching our library catalog, and sending items to the library reserves system.  [Requires login to your library catalog account..]    
    • Importing citations from citation management applications such as Zotero or EndNote

Adding to My Collection - from within the Library Reserves system

1. Within My Collection select the blue "Add Items" button

2. From the resulting menu in the right-hand pane, select either "Library Search" to import citations from our library system, or "Blank Form" to manually enter citations.

Import Zotero or EndNote files to "My Collection"

Our Library Reserves system allows you to import RIS or BibTex files from bibliographic management software such as Zotero or EndNote into your personal "My Collection."   Items in "My Collection" can then be selected for your current or future course reserves lists.

  1. Export and save your desired set of citations from Zotero or EndNote as a RIS or BibTex file.
    • Editing incomplete citations and typos prior to export is encouraged
  2. Within My Collection, click on the upper left ellipsis (three dots) icon and select "Import"
  3. Indicate Zotero/EndNote file's format and location
  4. Imported items should appear in My Collection, along with a confirmation message.

Adding to My Collection - from Zotero or EndNote

1. From Zotero or EndNote, export your desired citations as a RIS or BibTex file. Editing typos and incomplete citations prior to export is encouraged

2. Within My Collection, click on the upper left ellipsis (three dots) icon and select "Import"

3. Indicate Zotero/EndNote file's format and location

4. Confirm file name to initiate import

5. Imported items should appear in My Collection, with an "import complete" message.
