Baker-Berry Information & Research Desks: Punctuality

Punctuality

You MUST arrive on time for your scheduled shift. The library and your coworkers depend on your punctuality. If you punch in more than five minutes after your shift if scheduled to begin, you will be considered tardy—please be sure to inform your supervisor if you have made arrangements to be tardy for a shift (e.g., you are coming from a class, you are on the other side of campus before your shift).  Being tardy can make you ineligible for pay increases and even future jeopardize your future employment.

Occasionally there may be unusual circumstances that require you to be late for a shift: please maintain communication accordingly. If you know ahead of time that you will be late, to notify the staff via telephone (6-0716 Mon-Fri 8a-4:15p (Greg Potter), 6-2704 during other hours (Ref Desk), 6-2567 if no answer at reference desk (Circulation Desk).  DO NOT E-MAIL!  Note: Calling in late is a courtesy and does not guarantee the lateness or absence will be excused.
