This guide is highlights the most important indexes, tools, and resources for those doing genealogical research and family history. Although the Library does not support Genealogy, we do collect many resources for researching family histories.
Whether
the area is a state, county, city or town, or the organization is
social, military, religious, etc. local histories can often provide
useful genealogical information.
This is a good example of one of the many New England town histories that are available in Baker/Berry Library. They include much genealogical or biographical information.

New England county histories are in abundance in Baker/Berry's general collection. Most contain detailed biographical information and often portraits of distinguished citizens.
Most volumes of this impressive set (over 100 volumes to date) are published under the guidance of the University of London's Institute of Historical Research. Traces the history of each manor in each parish to include a vast amount of genealogical information. All volumes are listed in the Library's catalog under the specific county name.
There is a list of volumes in the set of the Victoria History of the Counties of England and "Contents of volumes": pages 30-235.
