Film posters
These are sites which sell movie posters. However, you can also download images for use in papers. Some of the images may have watermarks. Just remember to cite where you got the images from.
- eMoviePoster.comA large number of images for the posters which they sell. You can download images but they do have an eMoviePoster watermark on them.
- Heritage AuctionsThis auction house has a large collection of movie posters. You can obtain images from online.
- Movie Poster Collection from the Harry Ransom Center at UT AustinThe Ransom Center's movie poster collection consists of an estimated 10,000 posters and spans the entire history of film from the silent era to the present day. The largest part of the collection comes from the Interstate Theater Circuit, the movie house chain in Texas.
- Movie Poster Data BaseThis site is a database that will lead you to other sites but they have a very large listing of movie posters.

The site includes the Pinewood Dialogues and a short Research Guide. - National Film Preservation BoardThe National Film Registry is a list of movies deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" that are earmarked for preservation by the Library of Congress. They are not selected as the "best" American films of all time, but rather as works of enduring importance to American culture. They reflect who we are as a people and as a nation. The Librarian of Congress makes the annual selections to the Registry after reviewing hundreds of titles nominated by the public and conferring with Library film curators and the distinguished members of the National Film Preservation Board.
